McLean/Gibson Racing Unveils Rookie Campaign for Eric McLean

The future of the OSCAAR Overkill Enterprises Modified division is arriving—and it carries a legendary name.

McLean/Gibson Racing #45Ā is proud to announce that third-generation racer Eric McLeanĀ will make his highly anticipated Modified debut during the 2026 season.

The son of multi-time OSCAAR champion Gary McLean, Eric represents the next chapter in one of Ontario racing’s most respected family legacies. With Gary currently sidelined from driving, the team’s passion for racing hasn’t slowed—instead, it’s been reignited.

After getting his first taste of competition with a handful of Bone Stock starts last season, it didn’t take long for Eric to realize he was ready for more.

ā€œIt has always been a dream to follow in the family’s footsteps and wheel a Modified,ā€Ā said McLean.ā€œMy grandfather Morley was one of the pioneers of the Modified class in Ontario, and it’s only natural to want to carry that legacy forward.ā€

That legacy comes with high expectations—but also unmatched support.

Backed by one of the most accomplished teams in the province, Eric will have Greg GibsonĀ serving as car owner and crew chief, alongside his father Gary acting as driver coach. Together, they form one of the most successful combinations in OSCAAR Modified history.

Despite the powerhouse lineup behind him, the rookie remains grounded and focused on earning his place.

ā€œCredentials help, but you still have to carve out your own path through hard work and dedication,ā€Ā he added.ā€œI know the fans will expect a lot, but I’m here to build my own name—not just ride on the success of those around me.ā€

The team has been working relentlessly in the shop, preparing the #45 machine for competition, with eyes set on their debut at one of the biggest events of the season—the Brian McLean Memorial.

With emotion, legacy, and raw determination fueling this effort, one thing is certain:

šŸ”„Ā The next generation of McLean racing is ready to make some noise in 2026.Ā šŸ”„
