In Loving Memory of Ben Dennis

The Ontario racing community is heartbroken as we mourn the loss of a wonderful friend and a valued member of our racing family, Ben Dennis.
Ben and Courtney have been dear friends of mine and supporters of OSCAAR for many years. I would often joke with them that one day I was going to convince them both to become OSCAAR officials. This past season, that wish finally came true. In 2026, they proudly wore their OSCAAR Officials shirts for the very first time, and I couldn't have been happier to have them as part of our team.
Never could I have imagined that this first season together would also be our last. One moment we are enjoying the sport and friendships and the next we are reminded just how fragile life really is.
Courtney, my heart aches for you. You and Ben shared something truly special. Together, you built a beautiful life filled with love, friendship, laughter, and a passion for racing that brought you so much happiness. The memories you created together, both at the racetrack and away from it, are memories that no one can ever take away from you.
I know there are no words that can ease the pain you are feeling right now, but I hope you can find some comfort in knowing just how much you are loved. You are part of a racing family that stretches far beyond any one track or series. There are so many people standing beside you, ready to offer a shoulder to lean on, a hand to hold, or simply a hug when words are not enough.
On behalf of myself and the entire OSCAAR family, our officials, drivers, teams, and supporters, I extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Courtney, Ben's family, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Ben, I am so thankful for the years of friendship we shared. I am thankful that you and Courtney became part of our OSCAAR officials’ team, even if our time together was far too short. You may no longer be standing beside us at the racetrack, but you will always have a place in our hearts and in our racing family.
Rest peacefully, my friend. The next time we hear the roar of the engines and see the checkered flag wave, I know there will be many of us thinking of you.
Until we meet again, Ben, enjoy the races from the best seat in the house.
Dave
