After an already busy racing career, teenager Lucas Chapman is ready for the next step as he will make the jump into The Fyre Place & Patio Shop OSCAAR Hot Rods presented by Bromley Automotive for the 2026 campaign.
Going into the season, Chapman noted he’s excited to “race against drivers that my dad raced against,” while setting the goal for his rookie campaign to “win some races but mostly try my best.”
Chapman enters the OSCAAR banner after racing for the past couple seasons at Grand Bend Speedway, including winning a Bone Stock Track Championship in 2025. One of those nights featured one of his biggest career moments in lapping the whole field.
Prior to the jump to bone stocks, Chapman got his feet wet behind the wheel of a mini truck. The experience gained in those divisions he feels will translate over, in the lessons learned about set-up and working on the racecar.
Looking at the schedule, Chapman says he is most excited to get to Flamboro Speedway this season. Chapman made his debut at the 0.33-mile oval a year ago behind the wheel of a Bone Stock as part of one of their big bone stock invitationals. Unfortunately, contact with the front stretch wall ended his effort early.
Hopefully that is an experience that he will not repeat when he returns to the track in May.
