Dalen Martin Locked In for Competitive OSCAAR Campaign

After a solid campaign with The Fyre Place & Patio Shop OSCAAR Hot Rods presented by Bromley Automotive, there’s excitement for Dalen Martin in the racing season that is ahead.

“It's exciting another season is coming,” he commented. “With Sunset (Speedway) closing its doors, there will be a lot of cars coming over from there, so it's just gonna open up with some more good racing and hopefully put on some good shows.”

Looking ahead at the schedule for the year ahead, Martin admits being excited about getting back to Delaware Speedway after having visited victory lane there. 

“It's one of my favorites and we've had great success there in the last few years, so I'd really like to get back there,” he commented.

Martin put together a solid campaign in the 2025 season, scoring a pair of victories and five top-five finishes across his six series appearances. 

“It was okay,” Martin admitted on his season. “We won a couple, won one not as we wanted to, but we've still went to races, and showed decent speed everywhere. So we never showed up with the speed we wanted, but we worked towards it, and we just gotta get better as we unload.” 

Now as he looks ahead at 2026, he says being better will involve focusing on the small details. 

“It's all the small details we spend hours in the shop every week, working on the car and trying to fine-tune and everything,” he commented. “Iit's just the background knowledge that I've received from certain individuals and teams and help that have guided me to be as good as we are. So it's all the details, all that little stuff adds up; it ends up making or breaking you.”

For Martin, racing has always been in the family genes with both his father and uncle racing street stocks and challenge at Full Throttle Motor Speedway before he was born. It led to him getting behind the wheel of a Micro Sprint when he was 11-years-old, and not slowing down ever since.

Over the past couple years now, Martin has been a fixture with the OSCAAR Hot Rods and able to be successful, as evident by seven wins and 15 top-five’s over his 31 appearances on the tour.

“I like the bit of traveling that gets done to go everywhere and when time permits it for myself, it is fun to get to go to Peterborough and Varney and everywhere,” he commented. “It's just I like the travel aspect of it, and it's not, as of now at least, a big money spending deal. It's all relatively semi-low dollar, and it's feasible for a small team and small funding.”

Of those seven trips to victory lane, the Great Canadian victory a couple years back still stands out. 

“We had a good group of people there and the NASCAR Canada series was in town that weekend,” he recalled. “So, it was pretty cool on when we were with the NASCAR Canada car, having all the NASCAR guys come up and come around to congratulate me. That was pretty sweet.”
