5 Drivers to Watch This OSCAAR Race Season

It is no secret the competition across all of OSCAAR divisions has been top-notch each season, and the 2026 promises to be no different. With a mix of veterans and young blood battling on-track each week together, fans can expect to see a lot of close racing with a good, healthy battle for the championship.

As we think about the year ahead, here are five drivers for you to keep an eye on.

No. 8x Drew Richardson

After a solid season of getting his feet wet last year, Drew Richardson will return to The Fyre Place & Patio Shop Hot Rods for the 2026 season. He will be looking to build upon the results from last season, with hopes it goes smoother than last year. After being one of several to sustain damage in the season opening Bill Zardo Memorial at Flamboro Speedway, Richardson came back to score five top-10's across eight appearances, including a season-best fifth at Full Throttle Motor Speedway.

No. 16 Dustyn Mombourquette

Dustyn Mombourquette has been involved in motorsports since a young age, so it was no surprise to see him experience success quickly behind the wheel of a Limited Late Model in scoring multiple trips to victory lane at Sunset Speedway. He made the next jump of his first career last season with a jump up to the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Super Late Models presented by Just Foam It. It may not have gone all to plan for him, but there were moments of brightness including a couple top-five finishes.

No. 19 Brian Wilson Jr

After sharing a ride with his father last season in the OSCAAR Hot Rods, Brian Wilson Jr. has purchased his own car for the upcoming year. It will be fun to see the father-son duo battle against each other, a throwback to their mini stock days on a weekly basis at Full Throttle. Wilson Jr. may be one of the youngest drivers in the field, but he knows how to get around the track as evident by picking up feature victories in weekly Hot Rod competition at FTMS.

No. 46 Steve Trendell

2025 Overkill Enterprises OSCAAR Modified Champion. Is there anything else that needs to be said about Steve Trendell and his return to the series? He will be looking to defend his title, and build upon the numbers that led to a dream season last year. He scored no finishes off the podium in 2025, including a trip to victory lane at Peterborough Speedway.

No. 47 Brent McLean

After a brief hiatus behind the wheel, Brent McLean returned last season to modified competition and he doesn't have appeared to missed a beat in the process. He finished top-five in each of his four appearances last season, highlighted by a third at FTMS. He will have his eyes in returning to victory lane and build on his all-time career numbers with the tour that include five wins and 32 top-five's and 56 career appearances.
